Blondies with Maple Butter Sauce (Applebees Copycat)

This is not my own recipe, but I don’t know where the recipe originally comes from.

Ingredients

For the Blondie:
1/3 Cup Butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1 Tbsp Vanilla
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/8 Tsp Baking Soda
1/8 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans (optional, but delicious!)
1/2 Cup White Chocolate Chips (not really optional in my mind)

Note: these blondies are amazing all by themselves, but if you’re looking to take these to a whole new rich and sickeningly delicious level, make the sauce and serve the blondies with some vanilla ice cream and sauce over the top.

For the Maple Butter Sauce:
1/4 Cup Butter
8 oz. Cream Cheese
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
1/2 Tsp Maple Extract

Instructions

Blondies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt butter and stir (I do it by hand with a rubber spatula/scraper, but you can with the stand mixer and paddle attachment) with brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nuts, and white chocolate chips and stir until combined. Spread batter into a 9-inch square pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Sauce: Melt butter, sugar, and syrup together. Remove from heat and beat in cream cheese and maple extract.

Enjoy!
